Oh my gosh!!!!!!
What's-her-name blows, and the dude that sang Genie and Bottle!! Are you kidding me???
I can't take it anymore.
And no, I do not care that the Eclipse trailer takes up half the page. It is probably the best thing you will watch tonight.
UPDATE: Lilly is gone. Thank god. Her pigeon earrings are likely carrying mites.

ECLIPSE 06.30.10
The trailer is finally here.
Check out the new Victoria. (I am already missing Rachelle.)

You Should Own These Sneakers
These classics should be in your closet, or on your feet.
Wear them with skinny jeans, skirts, shorts, dresses, etc. You will look just like Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson will date you.
Okay, that won't happen. (I tried it.)
You will look cool though. Effortlessly cool. And they are inexpensive! So go ahead, and ditch those boring flats and flip flops. Then go to Piperlime.com and buy, buy, buy!
8th Graders, Not Today
I was unable to meet up with my sister and her 8th graders today. I was sort of bummed about it. The schedule just wasn't going to work. They were running late for everything, AND her principal was touring with them today, which meant my sister had to steer clear of having too much fun. Major bummer.
It worked out alright. I haven't been feeling 100% lately. I brought home a bad cold from New Hampshire the other week. I think the change in weather also has me feeling blah. My mold allergies are horrible, almost as bad as my dog allergies.
Tonight we will stop by my sister's grand motel (hehe) to say farewell. It sounds so silly, but even as I am writing this I am tearing up. Gosh, I miss my sisters, and my friends up north.
I will get my new shampoo and conditioner from her tonight. I had purchased it on my last trip north, and she brought it down so I didn't have to check my bag when I flew home.
And I will bring her a friend's wedding invitation. The wedding already happened. The bride, one of my bf's, made her invitations! They came out beautiful. I figured my sister could use it as a template for her own diy wedding invitations for her August 2011 wedding! Ekkk!!!!
Okay, I feel better now.
Idol tonight. Watch it. See if my predictions are right (or wrong).

AI - Who's Going Tonight
Because I am so disappointed with theis season, I am going to keep this short. I am a dreamer. I keep thinking this is going to get better. It doesn't.
Girls
1) Paige: She ruined a beautiful song.
Thanks for playing.
2) Katelyn or Katie: Neither girl can get it right. Katelyn is just plain awkward. She needs to relax.
Katie is now getting on my nerves. Sing something fun! Her song choices are moody and old sounding. Ugh. She is her own worst enemy.
Boys
1) Andrew: Bye, bye. Your Kim Jong glasses are really starting to bother me. So thanks for another crappy performance, that will hopefully get you kicked off.
2) Aaron: He is too young for the competition. There are a few older guys with better voices (and are more marketable) that are going to start picking up the tween vote.
Okay, now that's over with, let's talk about Kara.
CRYING!!!!! REALLY??? That might have actually been the most annoying part of the show. Unbelievable.

Two Museums and a Nap
I met my sister and the kids at 11:15. I showed up a little late, knowing by this time the kids would be seated and have food in their mouths. I figured there was no way they could bombard me with questions if they were eating.
Shortly after I sat down with my smoothie, they approached. 8th graders think they are quite sly. They didn't walk over. They meandered over. Then it's like opps, we landed at your table. Who are you? Giggle, giggle, giggle. Oh my god, you look alike! Giggle, giggle, giggle. Yup, everything I said, they said, or my sister said made them giggle.
Time to walk over to the Holocaust Museum. We all go outside the Ronald Reagan Building. My sister is responsible for eight students. There are probably like 70 there. I am so worried some have been left behind. My sister, not worried. She is a pro. I ask if they count off. One of her students overhears me, and thinks this is a great idea. We don't count off though. It's not necessary, the eight kids are there. The other teachers have all their kids, and we walk down the street, across the mall, to the museum.
Highlights of the rest of trip: one student tells my sister and I, our braces were different. ???? To that I say, my antique braces looked just like the braces you have kid! Kids these days, ugh! (I feel old now.)
I learn that one girl really likes "games", i.e. the interactive offerings at the museums. I overheard her tell a friend that she found part of the museum "fun" because it was interactive. I am guessing it was a portion with individual informational screens. Too cute.
The Air and Space Museum was ehh. First off, I have had this dang cork screw in my bag for months now. I keep meaning to give it to our friends in Buffalo next time we visit. (We had borrowed it. My mother-in-law does not keep a drop of alcohol in her house. So we brought wine. It was Thanksgiving!) Anyway, I have been through numerous airports with this cork screw, and it get confiscated at the dang museum! Unbelievable.
The kids liked walking around and the simulators. My sister and I sat and talked. Yeah, the planes are cool. We would rather be at an art museum though.
Needless to say, I needed a big nap after all that excitement, and walking.
Tomorrow, more museums, and more kids. I have learned the names of the four girls. Tomorrow I will learn the names of the four boys. Maybe the teacher will have a special award for me if I get all eight names right.

Lunch at 11am
Today I will be dining with my sister's 8th grade class. So if you see one of those groups of little people wandering the mall, look for a lady, slightly distressed and rubbing Purell like an insane woman. Yup, that will be me.
11am though? I eat early. Friends at my old work place made fun of me for eating at 12 o'clock on the dot. 11am is REAL early though. I am going to need lupper at 3pm.
Time to get dress... In not jeans. No jeans for this 8th grade group.
My sister is the meanest teacher EVER... I might start a revolt.

Oscar Red Carpet - Yeah, You Looked Like a Weirdo
I am not going to belabored this. I feel bad, I really do. For one, I will never own a dress that is red carpet worthy, so who am I to talk? Two, these ladies spent a ton of time getting ready. So I do feel guilty about all of this.
But, here you go. My top three worst dressed:
Charlize Theron in Dior
Lilac disaster. This was a watered down Gaga dress. The color was not flattering. The gathered fabric on her chest was ugly and odd.
Zoe Saldana in Riccardo Tisci
The top of her dress was pretty. That was about it.
The bottom half was all kinds of messy. The slit, the ruffles, the FOUR shades of purple were all wrong.
Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten
The dress was pretty, just not for the red carpet. Maybe a movie premiere or charity event? Like I said in my earlier post, this dress looked as though it was pulled off a rack at Express.
Maggie, as a nominee, should have, could have, worn a dress that made a statement. At least she looked pretty and not as disastrous as some of the other ladies.

Oscar Red Carpet - My Top Three
Last night was very interesting. A lot of variety-from color, to cut, to length. A lot of slits--Mariah Carey in a red, one shoulder dress; Zoe Saldana with her purple sparkle, fluffy disaster; and JLo in a very structured, overwhelming Armani. All these dress had slits. Could this be a trend?
Nothing screamed, oh my god, that is absolutely gorgeous. Here are my top three though:
Sarah Jessica in Chanel Couture
I loved her in yellow. The material looked just as gorgeous as the silver embellishment. The craftsmanship of SJP's dress stood out partly because, there were a lot of dresses out there that could have been pulled off the racks at Express--eww... Maggie G. --what the hell??? Did someone forget to tell your stylist that you were a nominee?
This dress was made for SJP--yummy, elegant, and cutting edge.
Elizabeth Banks in Versace
A few women tried to pull off texture, a ton of texture. A lot of them failed miserably--Vera Farmiga, way too much dress, it wore her; and Jennifer Lopez, the fabric consumed her.
I loved the color of Elizabeth's dress. The bodice was fitted, and had a enough texture to make the transition to that pretty, delicate, fluffy train look seamless.
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
The predicted winner, looked like a winner. Sandra looked elegant, age appropriate, and absolutely perfect. She took a big risk with the dress. I would have hated to hear the jokes how the girl looking like an Oscar didn't walk away with an Oscar.
Everything about her look was perfect. Even her hair was perfect. I have no idea how she got into that dress. It fit like a glove. I would love to see it up close. To feel the weight of it and touch all the different fabrics and embellishment. If I owned that dress, it would go in a gigantic shadow box for all to see.

Red Carpet!
Oscar red carpet coverage starts on E! at 6pm ET.
We will be watching. I will be criticizing anything that looks unfit for the red carpet, and envying all that is absolutely gorgeous.
And, of course, I will report back on all those I loved and hated.
Kristen Stewart, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, George Clooney (and his gf), Penelope Cruz, and Meryl Streep are just a few I am looking forward to seeing.
