The Countdown to June 30th

In less than two weeks I will have my little self and my niece, sitting in a movie theatre at midnight for..... ECLIPSE!

We thought it best to watch New Moon one more time before seeing Eclipse. So we watched it last night. I don't know how many times I've seen it. Like it really matters, right? And I have to say, I don't think there will ever come a day when I'm not impressed by Taylor Lautner's amazing transformation. Ah, if only he were 10 years older.

Until June 30th, here is THE best song of the summer, Neutron Star Collision:

TSSLOBT

I finished The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner a week ago. A friend said she read it all in one sitting. I must have ADD, because it took me three nights to finish the book.

I am not sure what the purpose of the book was. If anything, it proved that Twi-fans are willing to read just about anything. Don't get me wrong, I found TSSLOBT entertaining. It was neat story. Neat seems sums it up nicely though, because it wasn't good enough to be called anything other than "neat".

The characters were weak. The storyline wasn't fully developed. I think Meyers thought she chose a character that would be easy to develop, when she actually picked the most difficult character. We knew nothing about Bree, so there was a lot to create and explain. And I feel as though Meyer did the bare minimum. We never really learn about who Bree was prior to transformation. We are lead to believe that Bree creates this amazing relationship with Diego after one day together. The whole story was cheap and rushed.

Amazon reviewers are all over the map. The book has a 3 1/2 star rating out of 5, which isn't saying much. I think readers were a bit insulted. We have come to rely on Meyers' knack for developing characters we can relate to. This is why she has 40 year old mothers in love with a story about a teenage girl and a vampire! The Meyers' touch was missed in TSSLOBT.

Sorry! I've Been Packing and Cleaning!

As you all know, my niece moving in with us, THIS WEEK! And... we are moving in June! Needless to say, the house has been a disaster for about two weeks now. I have been packing to make room for all Anne's stuff, and cleaning all those places that have not seen the light of day in two years.

Past the dust/windex cloud there is a fashion tip. I am in love with the Scunci No-Slip Grip Hairbands. They have kept my hair back and out of my face while moving from room to room, and out of tape as I close up boxes. The secret of these hairbands is the rubber backing that holds the headband in place. Another cool thing, the entire headhair is elastic, so no headaches and they won't break! Yay!

And I will admit, I sort of like resembling Anna Kendrick in New Moon. It makes moving and cleaning seem almost glamorous.

Speaking of... have you all purchased your tickets for the 12:01am showing of Eclipse????? Now is the time to do it!

Water and Nachos! I Love It!

I know, I know, this seems a little crazy, even for me! You have to watch this clip though. Rob is adorable!

Nachos

Twilight-mania has hit once again! The track list for Eclipse has been released. Tickets go on sale this FRIDAY! EKKKK!!!!!!

Right now I am watching the cast of Twilight on Oprah. I am also enjoying a glass of wine. It is the closest thing to a date with Robert and Taylor I'm gonna get!

I am only a few minutes into the show and already giddy with delight. Why? Rob just said "nachos" and "water". He can't pronounce these, and other words, like we Americans do. It is sooo cute though!

I will try to post a few clips from the show later tonight!

The Coolest Engagement Ring, EVER!

It's not often that I get to tag a post with both "Twilight xoxo" and "fashion". So this is a pretty special entry.

I love diamond rings and Twilight, probably diamonds more than Twilight, but they are both right up there. I don't know what could possibly be cooler than the engagement ring Edward gave Bella. Edward is a true romantic. So you know the ring he chose to give Bella, the woman he waited DECADES for, would be absolutely perfect. Here's the description from Eclipse:

The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold-- delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds.

For those of you not in-the-know, the ring belonged to Edward's mother. So that would date the ring back 150 years or so.

Now, for the low, low price of $1,979 you can get your love Bella's engagement ring! The ring was designed by Infinite Jewelry Co. in collaboration with Stephanie Meyers. I think they did an alright job creating a ring that reflected the description in the book. I am not sure about the "fragile web of gold", but it would be pretty difficult to create something both intricate and marketable/affordable.

The ring is also available at lower price points for $35 and $479. They switch out the diamonds for CZ's, and instead of solid gold, you will get gold plating. Boys, please don't get your lady CZ. If you are actually getting this as an engagement ring, buy the diamonds.

I have to admit, I actually like the ring. It has a very cool look to it. And you can never go wrong with diamonds!

Would you buy the replica ring?

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!!

I finally received New Moon in the mail today!

FINALLY!!!!

When did it come out again? A month ago? Ugh, well the wait is over. Tomorrow, after I do a few things around the house and go grocery shopping, I am spending some quality time with Edward and Jacob.

Something to Look Forward To!

Stephanie Meyer has a new book to add to the Twilight series! "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" will be on shelves June 5th!

TSSLOBT is 192 pages and will be available for fans for FREE on www.breetanner.com. A hard copy will also be available for $13.99, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross. Nice!

For anyone a little fuzzy on who this Bree character is, pull out Eclipse. Bree is one of the many newborn vampires created by Victoria. Meyers was going to include Bree's story as part of the Official Guide, but the story ended up much longer than she anticipated. So she gave us another book!

I am giddy with excitement!

(For the record, I will not be pre-ordering from Amazon. I have yet to receive New Moon! Amazon is very, very bad.)

A Trip to the Mall

I met a friend (also from New Hampshire) for lunch at the Pentagon City Mall today. After I did a little shopping. Unfortunately, I came up empty handed. Self-tanner is not a hot ticket item in the mid-Atlantic. So I had a difficult time finding that. Boo.

And while browsing Abercrombie was fun (I worked there once!), they didn't have the romper I was looking for. So I ordered the romper online when I got home. I did come out smelling delicious though. In case you've ever wondered about the "Abercrombie smell", it comes from the same cologne bottles they sell in the store. The store is sprayed daily, and that's how it smells so yummy! ;)

And speaking of ordering, guess what has NOT come in the mail???? NEW MOON! You've gotta be kidding me!!!!!

I may now never, ever order from Amazon again. Anyone who messes around with my ability to see Jacob and Edward is not worth giving business to!

Going out for dinner! Catch you all later!

Eclipse Clip!

Here's a clip from Eclipse. The tension is so intense! I know how it all turns out, and I'm still biting my nails. What will happen to Bella? Will Edward change her? What about the Volturi??? He has to change her! Will the wolves really go after the Cullens if they change Bella? Bella wants to be a vampire!

This is all very stressful.

P-Oed at Amazon

I just received an email from Amazon saying New Moon was just shipped! Just shipped! I can expect to get it in the mail on the 25th! What?!

This will be the last time I pre-order from Amazon. I could have gone to any other store today and purchased the dvd. Instead I have a digital copy from Amazon. It was sent as a "gift"--aka, please don't be too pissed that we messed up.

Well, I am pissed. I can only watch the downloaded version once, and then the rental expires. And I feel incredibly bad if anyone out there followed my advice and pre-ordered on Amazon.

When Eclipse comes out, I will obtain the dvd at Borders. Amazon can not be trusted with such an important order.

AI, New Moon, and Fantabulous Weather

I was surprised to see Lacey go last night. Probably because I want to get rid of Andrew so badly.

I should have known better. AI is no different than a campaign for public office. You have your constituencies-female, college student, Latin American, senior citizen, etc. And each candidate appeals to one (or more) of these groups to make up their base. Lacey's base, I would think, is the female voter. And that vote is already split many ways with Katie, Didi, and the other girls. Lacey was the weakest girl. She had to go.

Hopefully, next week I'll be spot on with my prediction.

New Moon will be released this Saturday. I have heard that people are planning viewing parties at midnight on Friday. My viewing party will be me, Craig, and our two cats.

I ordered my copy through Amazon. In the past, I have received dvds and cds the day before or day of the release date. I hope it comes on Saturday. If not, I'll be waiting till Monday. That is too long to wait.

The weather is absolutely beautiful in DC today. I walked downtown to meet Craig for lunch. On the walk back I was sweating in my light cardigan, jeans, and flip flops. Saturday it's gonna be 76! Craig and I are thinking of doing a day trip. Not sure where we're going, but Gettysburg is being considered. Guess I'll have to do some research tomorrow.

ECLIPSE 06.30.10

The trailer is finally here.

Check out the new Victoria. (I am already missing Rachelle.)

You Should Own These Sneakers

These classics should be in your closet, or on your feet.

Wear them with skinny jeans, skirts, shorts, dresses, etc. You will look just like Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson will date you.

Okay, that won't happen. (I tried it.)

You will look cool though. Effortlessly cool. And they are inexpensive! So go ahead, and ditch those boring flats and flip flops. Then go to Piperlime.com and buy, buy, buy!

Red Carpet!

Oscar red carpet coverage starts on E! at 6pm ET.

We will be watching. I will be criticizing anything that looks unfit for the red carpet, and envying all that is absolutely gorgeous.

And, of course, I will report back on all those I loved and hated.

Kristen Stewart, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, George Clooney (and his gf), Penelope Cruz, and Meryl Streep are just a few I am looking forward to seeing.

Two Men, and a TV Show

I watch Martha Stewart's show and The View. I am not ashamed of it. I enjoy both shows. I learn something new on Martha's show and think she is hilarious. She and her guests drank throughout many of her holiday shows in December. I was like, hells yeah. I bake Christmas cookies and drink adult beverages. Great minds think alike!

The View can be a little annoying, I'll admit it. I really enjoy some of the guests though, and the celebrity gossip is fun.

Tomorrow you must record The View--two very attractive gentlemen, one show. Robert Pattinson and Mitt Romney will be appearing! That's right, tomorrow at 11am, on ABC. Record it. Set your dvr or tivo right now.

It's gonna be a heck of a lot of fun!

My Fake Boyfriend is Too Young for Me

Craig and I saw Valentine's Day this weekend. It was super cute. The story lines didn't come as a big surprise, but it was just as good as I thought it would be. And I loved seeing some of my favorite actor and actresses!

I was a little disappointed with Taylor Lautner. I should have realized going in that he is playing a high school student. So he's probably gonna look like a 16 year old. And dang it, he did. I found myself mildly embarrassed. Craig is sitting right there, and I know what is going through his head. My wife has a crush on a 16 year old wolf.

At least he's 18 now.

So bottom line: Go see Valentine's Day. There are a few handsome men to see, and most of them are "age appropriate". ;)

Peace out.

We're headed to Florida tomorrow morning, and I am not sure when I'll be able to post again.

I will be thinking of some wonderful new material for New Hampshire Avenue, and promise to have something entertaining to you by Tuesday evening.

Until then, I leave you with this goody:

Remember you... How could we forget?!

Over a month till New Moon is released on dvd. Ugh. I will definitely be seeing Valentine's Day--Taylor Lautner, Jen Garner, Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel, Ashton... So Jacob fix--check.

Edward though, oh Edward... I saw the trailer for Remember Me when I saw New Moon. It looked alright. The story didn't seem all that great though. Just sorta ehh.

Three months later-I need you Robert. I will see your new movie.

So I'll be supporting Rob in his new role. Anyone else going to see it just to get a fix?
