If I brought you into our house blindfolded, you might guess you're in the home of 70 year old retirees. We love mail, at 7pm we're watching Wheel of Fortune, and we're big fans of going out for breakfast.
Last week I received a note card in the mail from one of my best friends in New Hampshire. The note was so heartfelt. Her thoughtfulness made we smile and tear up at the same time. It is now in my nightstand. I would say it is an exclusive knick knack drawer. I keep a candy wrapper from our honeymoon in Paris, a necklace my Memere once owned, and now a very sweet note from a very good friend. All things I like to keep close by and glance at every night when I take my nighttime vitamins. Yes, I take vitamins. I told you we live like senior citizens!
Yesterday we received a fun Valentine's Day package from my mother and her fiance--a box of chocolates, fun socks (for me), and a card game. Craig tried to challenge me last night to see if we could finish the chocolates in one night. Haha. Nice try Craig. We each had two chocolates, and we'll probably have two more tonight.
When it rains it pours... We just got another surprise in mail today! Holy moly, all this mail is spoiling us! A wedding present from friends in New Hampshire came via UPS. Yay! Craig and I eloped last July. And we have been pleasantly surprised by the wonderful gifts and cards we've received in the mail since.
The gift we received today came in a very large box. So big I had some trouble getting it in the door! Inside was a very fancy toaster oven. It certainly puts our two slot toaster to shame. And there is more! Our generous friends also got us a knife block complete with a selection of different knives. Each time we chop a apple, make a salad, or dice potatoes, we will think of them!
Now it's time to get our mail and cards together!
