I just wrote about five paragraphs about the house.
Then I figured, anyone who really cared to hear about the nightmare we've been dealing with, probably already knows everything.
For those of you that don't know about what we've (and by we've, I mean I've) been dealing with, here's all you need to know:
The basement flooded.
We don't have ac.
And I am not fond of the previous owners or their realtor.

Summer Television
The Life of an American Pregnant Secret Teenager, whatever the heck it's called, is absolutely horrible. How this show is on its third season is beyond me.
Have you ever watched it? Nope. Okay, here's the gist--kids and parents are obsessed with sex. That's it! The kids and parents are talking about sex, having sex, having babies. It is really quite annoying. Never in my life have I encountered a group of people so obsessed with the act of sex.
Way to go ABC Family, if kids weren't thinking about sex, they are now. And since most of the characters are having sex, I'm guessing your audience will probably follow suit. F-
Pretty Little Liars, not so bad. At points the show gets cheesy. And at times it does seem as though the creator's cribbed from the concept of Gossip Girl a little too much. The texts the girls receive from their dead/undead bff for instance. I was just waiting for the xoxo.
The mystery of just who and how these messages are being sent is somewhat entertaining though. B
Rookie Blue started this week and is not half bad. Sort of like Grey's with cops. B+
And Boston Med, was pretty good. All doctors are different, and I found the personalities of each really interesting. I also found watching them interact with each other was interesting. A-

The Clock Starts Monday
The house should be ready to move into on Monday. This means I start the clock on the Five Year Plan. The Five Year Plan is simply this, in five years I will be living in New England. Notice I didn't stipulate New Hampshire. I would be happy living in Massachusetts or Maine, not Vermont though. Nope, I don't want to live there. New Hampshire really would be best though-no income or sales tax!
Now, don't get me wrong, I am very excited about the new house. There will be more space and an outdoor area to hangout in. No more dealing with the freakin jerk of a landlord! I am very happy and very grateful to be moving into the house.
In five years though, I want to be living in New England. I want the lakes and ocean in the summer, pumpkin beer and foliage in the fall, and flippin plowed streets in the winter. I don't think these are unreasonable requests. Unfortunately, you ain't gonna find them in DC!
1,827 days to go.

The First Day of Summer and Fall Fashion
It is in the 90s. Usually I'd be jumping for joy, but not now. I'm cranky as hell. I want out, out, out of summer or DC, either one would work. It just seems so damn silly to hang out in the heat when there ain't crap around here to do to cool off---no pools, lakes, or ocean, just lots of pavement and the craptastic Potomac River.
July and August were most definitely my favorite months in New Hampshire. I miss burning my legs on a hot dock, and running across sand that is so hot it's unbearable. These are a very small price to pay because nothing in the world beats dozing off while watching the waves come in or dipping your feet into a lake so crystal clear that you can inspect the rocks and pebbles below. I miss it so much, I could buy a plane ticket right now and pack nothing but swim suits!
I'm not going to New Hampshire now though, and probably won't be going back for awhile. Oh, boo. So what are my favorite months in DC? My favorite months in DC are September and October. The weather cools off a bit and the city has a few less tourists meandering around. You can actually enjoy yourself outside.
So I've taken my dreams of lakes and the ocean and buried them, buried them with my swim suits and beach towel. And I've moved onto more hopeful things, like fall fashion. And I love boots!

I think a shorter boot is going to be all the rage this fall and winter. They really are flattering. Make sure they have heel though. They will make your legs look slim and long. And they are easier to put on!
Here's a pair I found online that not only look super cute, but also warm and comfortable!

The Countdown to June 30th
In less than two weeks I will have my little self and my niece, sitting in a movie theatre at midnight for..... ECLIPSE!
We thought it best to watch New Moon one more time before seeing Eclipse. So we watched it last night. I don't know how many times I've seen it. Like it really matters, right? And I have to say, I don't think there will ever come a day when I'm not impressed by Taylor Lautner's amazing transformation. Ah, if only he were 10 years older.
Until June 30th, here is THE best song of the summer, Neutron Star Collision:

TSSLOBT
I finished The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner a week ago. A friend said she read it all in one sitting. I must have ADD, because it took me three nights to finish the book.
I am not sure what the purpose of the book was. If anything, it proved that Twi-fans are willing to read just about anything. Don't get me wrong, I found TSSLOBT entertaining. It was neat story. Neat seems sums it up nicely though, because it wasn't good enough to be called anything other than "neat".
The characters were weak. The storyline wasn't fully developed. I think Meyers thought she chose a character that would be easy to develop, when she actually picked the most difficult character. We knew nothing about Bree, so there was a lot to create and explain. And I feel as though Meyer did the bare minimum. We never really learn about who Bree was prior to transformation. We are lead to believe that Bree creates this amazing relationship with Diego after one day together. The whole story was cheap and rushed.
Amazon reviewers are all over the map. The book has a 3 1/2 star rating out of 5, which isn't saying much. I think readers were a bit insulted. We have come to rely on Meyers' knack for developing characters we can relate to. This is why she has 40 year old mothers in love with a story about a teenage girl and a vampire! The Meyers' touch was missed in TSSLOBT.

The House
It looks very promising that we will be closing on the house the end of June. We are VERY excited. I am a little panicked. While a lot of our things have been packed for weeks now (we packed up things to make room for our niece), I still have a ton of packing to do. I just don't know where to put everything!
Our two bedroom is already feeling small with the three of trying to get around each other and the boxes. The packing must get done though. My lil sister and her fiance are coming down to help us move, and I don't want to be packing when they are here. They are coming to help us move and enjoy a little time in the city for the Fourth of July weekend. They aren't here to watch or help me pack up our things. So I want to make sure every last box is taped and labeled before they land at BWI.
So I've decided I'll give myself one day to pack up one room. I figure if I concentrate on one room a day, the project will seem a whole lot less overwhelming.
We move on a Thursday, so this is my proposed packing schedule:
Friday - living room
Monday - second bedroom
Tuesday - our bedroom
Wednesday - kitchen
Thursday am - bathroom
I think that plan might just work! I'm feeling a little better already!
