Gossip Girl

The first episode of the season was last night, and the girls and boys did not disappoint!

Serena and Blair had on some great outfits. Blair traded in her signature headband for a tres chic hat. The whole mis-matchy, but goes together Parisian look looked great on S. I can not wait to see what these two are wearing next week.

Two major upsets--Lonely Boys baby drama and Chuck's "new" identity. First off, Lonely Boy, or should I say Loser Boy, is a complete idiot. You are really going to believe Milo (what a perfectly crunchy name) is your baby boy? Word of advice boys, if you didn't see the lady pull out a hair from your head or swab your mouth, get your own test done. What is heck is crazy Georgina up to now?

And Chuck really can't remember who he is, and his Am Ex cards weren't turned off? I am thinking that when you wake up and you talk like an American, you're not going to think you're European. And Chuck, get a new credit card company. By the looks of the preview, this story will develop more next weak, I mean week.

I love that Fashion's Night Out was incorporated. Also loved Lily's hair. It was pulled back an interesting woven bun.

One last thing: Katie Cassidy??? Why weren't we given more notice of this?

The First Step to a Great Fall

The weather has been a little chilly in DC, cool enough to wear a sweater at night. We can't really dress for fall though when the daytime temps are still in the 80s! Yes, the weather is gorgeous!

I am dying to put on a pair of skinny jeans with OTK boots. I think I'll have to wait another month though. Until then, I plan on showing my fall spirit on my nails. Last week I took off the pale pink color from my last pedicure and put on a great taupe color from OPI I picked up last fall--You Don't Know Jacques.

Some other colors I am loving-- Chanel's Strong, Nicole by OPI's No Limits, and Essie's Sew Psyched.

Hello, Love

I'm back!

So this summer was a little bit zany with the house and all. When I wasn't sweating (the ac was down for a week... in JULY!), I was swearing like a sailor. Installing a new faucet seemed like a relatively easy project, until all those things that are suppose to come apart, didn't.

September couldn't come soon enough, and I am finding all sorts of wonderful things to keep myself entertained--fall fashion, fall television, and fall beer. We've got a lot of ground to cover.

Let's start with television. A friend shared with me this great site, The Futon Critic. The site is like a virtual tv guide. I love the fact that you can easily see what's on during prime time. Fantastic!

I am looking forward to Gossip Girl, of course. The new season starts this Monday. I wonder what wonderful things Serena and Blair brought back from Paris! I'm very curious to see if Blair ditches the headbands. I sure hope not! I love headbands.

One show you will not see on Futon Critic, but is a must record, is Friday Night Lights! ABC Family is now airing old episodes of Friday Night Lights Monday through Friday at 6pm. If you have never seen an episode, you have to start watching now. I promise you will find it entertaining. Even if you don't love football, you'll fall in love with those southern accents and Coach and Principal Taylor-- the cutest couple on television!

Ba-nanas

Rachel Zoe is back, and I couldn't be happier.

The first episode of Season 3 airs on Bravo at 10pm on Tuesday, August 3rd. Just in time to get ready for fall fashion.

If you didn't catch last season, I won't tell, just make sure you do your homework and catch up now! Check your local listings and dvr or Tivo every. single. episode. You will have the most ah-mazing weekend EVER. Not only is the fashion fabulous, Rachel and her team are OOC.

But wait, there's more, you must sign up for Rachel's emails. You can sign-up for the Zoe Report at website at www.rachelzoe.com. You won't regret it. Each day an email is sent re: something fabulous--shoes, clothes, makeup, etc. I love the "Parallel Universe", which shows a budget version of the $1,000 pair of shoes Rachel is currently in love with. Because let's get real, we can't all afford Prada!

The House

I just wrote about five paragraphs about the house.

Then I figured, anyone who really cared to hear about the nightmare we've been dealing with, probably already knows everything.

For those of you that don't know about what we've (and by we've, I mean I've) been dealing with, here's all you need to know:

The basement flooded.

We don't have ac.

And I am not fond of the previous owners or their realtor.

Summer Television

The Life of an American Pregnant Secret Teenager, whatever the heck it's called, is absolutely horrible. How this show is on its third season is beyond me.

Have you ever watched it? Nope. Okay, here's the gist--kids and parents are obsessed with sex. That's it! The kids and parents are talking about sex, having sex, having babies. It is really quite annoying. Never in my life have I encountered a group of people so obsessed with the act of sex.

Way to go ABC Family, if kids weren't thinking about sex, they are now. And since most of the characters are having sex, I'm guessing your audience will probably follow suit. F-

Pretty Little Liars, not so bad. At points the show gets cheesy. And at times it does seem as though the creator's cribbed from the concept of Gossip Girl a little too much. The texts the girls receive from their dead/undead bff for instance. I was just waiting for the xoxo.

The mystery of just who and how these messages are being sent is somewhat entertaining though. B

Rookie Blue started this week and is not half bad. Sort of like Grey's with cops. B+

And Boston Med, was pretty good. All doctors are different, and I found the personalities of each really interesting. I also found watching them interact with each other was interesting. A-
